The Yemeni Armed Forces on Tuesday accused the Houthis of mutilating and burning the bodies of its soldiers recovered on Taiz battlefronts, citing medical examinations.
- Al-Nuzaili said medical staff documented deliberate mutilation, burning chemicals, broken limbs, and erased faces on bodies received via the Red Cross.
- Al-Nuzaili said the acts violate the sanctity of the dead and international humanitarian law, including Common Article 3 of the Geneva Conventions.
- Al-Nuzaili cited a 2020 execution of Brigadier Hussein al-Usaymi and a 2023 handover of burned soldiers' bodies from Al-Jawf as prior violations.
- Al-Nuzaili called on the UN and human rights groups to open an independent investigation and prosecute those responsible.
