Egyptian army commander receives interior minister for October war anniversary

Interior Minister Mahmoud Tawfik has led a police delegation to congratulate military commander Ashraf Salem Zahar on the 53rd anniversary of Egypt's October 1973 victory.

• Zahar received Tawfik and an interior ministry delegation marking the 53rd anniversary of the October 1973 victory; chief of staff Ahmed Khalifa attended.
• Tawfik presented Zahar and Khalifa with the Police shield, and Zahar presented Tawfik with the Armed Forces shield.
• Tawfik said the October victory would remain an enduring symbol in Egyptian military history.
• Zahar said the armed forces and police are the two wings of national security and stability.
