Hennepin County has charged right-wing influencers James O'Keefe and Cameron Higby with felonies for claiming voters' identities at Minnesota polling places during the August primary.
- Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty announced felony charges of unlawful voting and identity theft, alleging the two used real voters' names, some deceased, without their knowledge.
- The two attempted to test Minnesota's "vouching" process but did not cast ballots, stopping when asked to sign oaths vouching for others' residences.
- The men disguised themselves in what O'Keefe described as "traditional Muslim attire" during the primary visits.
- Higby called the charges "lawfare," asserted no laws were broken, and linked to a fundraising site for his legal expenses.
