Bayern Munich to face Ajax in Nairobi match opening Kenya's new stadium

Bayern Munich has announced a January friendly against Ajax Amsterdam in Nairobi, tied to preparations for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.

• Bayern Munich announced Wednesday it will play Ajax Amsterdam on 5 January 2027 at the 60,000-seat Raila Odinga International Stadium in Nairobi.
• The match marks the opening of Kenya's new national stadium ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania from 19 June to 17 July 2027.
• Bayern board member Ruwen Kasper said the club has millions of fans in Africa and the match offers a chance to strengthen its ties and confirm its international presence.
