The transparency group Distributed Denial of Secrets has published personnel data of more than 40,000 US homeland security employees, including immigration agents.
- DDoSecrets on Wednesday released names, emails, phone numbers and job titles of more than 40,000 employees across DHS agencies, including ICE, CBP and CISA.
- The hacker "Department of Peace" claimed it harvested the data from DHS's Okta single sign-on system; Okta said it has no evidence its systems were compromised.
- DDoSecrets co-founder Emma Best said the tool would "replace anonymity with accountability" for journalists, congressional inquiries and FOIA requests.
- The leak is the third government data breach in recent weeks, following the FBI data theft claimed by ShinyHunters and a class-action lawsuit over a Pentagon breach.
