Liverpool weighs re-signing Alexander-Arnold from Real Madrid

Liverpool has begun preliminary moves toward re-signing Trent Alexander-Arnold from Real Madrid in the January window amid his reduced role under José Mourinho.

• Liverpool has sounded out fans and the player's representatives about submitting an offer, initially a loan, to Real Madrid, Cadena SER reported.
• Alexander-Arnold, earning €16.7 million annually, has dropped in Mourinho's pecking order, with Federico Valverde preferred at right-back, the broadcaster reported.
• Journalist Pacujo Delgado predicted Liverpool will push hard and said Mourinho could seek Tottenham's Pedro Porro, also a Barcelona target.
• A Liverpool Echo poll found nearly half of fans backed his return, while 29 percent still opposed it.
