Egypt's education minister visits Singapore's teacher-training institute

Egyptian Education Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif visited Singapore's National Institute of Education to study its teacher preparation and professional development model.

• Abdel Latif visited the institute during his official Singapore trip, welcomed by Dean Chua Jye Yee and accompanied by Ambassador Amira Fahmy and Assistant Minister Ahmed El-Mohammadi.
• The minister said teacher development is a top priority in Egypt's efforts to improve its education system.
• He toured institute exhibitions on linking educational research to teaching practice and education policy-making.
• Both sides affirmed the importance of expanding cooperation in teacher preparation and educational research between the two countries.
