Lebanon's government commissioner at the Military Court, Judge Claude Ghanem, has charged eight people and referred the explosive-truck case to the military investigative judge.
- Judge Claude Ghanem charged eight people, including two detainees, over transporting explosives from Baalbek to Beirut to undermine state authority and endanger Lebanon.
- The charges include assaulting state security, possessing weapons and explosives, and forming illegal associations.
- Public prosecutor Rami al-Hajj earlier issued arrest warrants for two Hezbollah members accused of delivering over 500 kilograms of explosives to Beirut's southern suburb.
- The truck was stopped on October 11 at the Dahr al-Baidar checkpoint, the third and largest weapons and explosives shipment intercepted since the start of the month.
