Egypt's Defense Minister Receives Parliamentary Defense Committee

Egypt's defense minister hosted the parliamentary defense committee and stated the armed forces' permanent readiness to protect the country's borders.

• General Ashraf Salem Zaher, Egypt's defense minister, received the House of Representatives' Defense and National Security Committee delegation at the ministry's general secretariat headquarters.
• The meeting was attended by Chief of Staff Ahmed Khalifa, Committee Chairman Mohamed Abbas Helmy, and a number of armed forces commanders.
• Committee members congratulated the armed forces on the 53rd anniversary of the October 1973 war victories.
• Zaher stated the armed forces remain permanently ready to protect the state's borders on all strategic directions.
