Egypt's environment ministry has officially launched the IDEIA digital platform for project environmental impact assessment studies and stopped accepting paper applications.
- Minister Manal Awad announced the official launch of the IDEIA platform and the halt of paper applications at a press conference in the New Administrative Capital.
- Awad said the platform lets investors submit applications electronically and track their status in real time, identifying which agency holds their request.
- Ministry official Hanaa Gomaa said the platform has cut review time for some studies to one week, versus the one-month legal maximum.
- Gomaa said the unified environmental data register, launched in May 2026, has registered over 156 companies against an initial target of 60.
