British adventurer Karl Bushby completed his 28-year, 50,000-kilometer walk from Chile to his mother's home in Hull, northern England, on Monday.
- Bushby, 57, set off from Punta Arenas, Chile, in November 1998 and crossed four continents without using any form of transport.
- The former paratrooper crossed the frozen Bering Strait and the Darién Gap, and swam the English Channel in October to reach the UK.
- About 1,000 people gathered in Hull city center to welcome Bushby, where he was received by the lord mayor.
- Bushby said the journey was a "global effort" and that only about 15 of the 28 years were spent walking.
