Personal data of South Korean President Lee Jae-myung and his entourage remained exposed online for months before officials launched emergency meetings.
- An investigation by public broadcaster KBS found Lee's passport numbers, birth dates and passport validity details had been accessible online for months.
- The leak, posted as a passenger list from Lee's June Europe trip, exposed data of 168 people, including his wife, security advisers, presidential staff and journalists.
- The presidential office convened an emergency meeting Tuesday, where chief secretary Lim Kwang-hyeon ordered an investigation to determine responsibility for the leak.
- Foreign ministry spokesman Park Doo-son said the ministry is deleting the leaked information and reissuing passports for all affected.
