Egypt, UAE discuss development of Al-Omeid nature reserve in Matrouh

Egypt's Environment Affairs Agency chief met a UAE delegation to discuss developing the Al-Omeid biosphere reserve in Matrouh.

• Abdel Rahim met Abdullah Al-Jabri and Nasser Al-Kaabi, board members of the International Fund for Houbara Conservation.
• Abdel Rahim said talks addressed improving reserve management, organizing visitor reception and movement, and protecting natural habitats.
• Abdel Rahim presented a preliminary engineering proposal to develop the reserve and its surrounding area.
• Minister Manal Awad has directed forming a specialized scientific committee to conduct a comprehensive study of the reserve.
