Egypt's House of Representatives referred seven member-backed draft laws to specialized committees for study during its plenary session.
- Speaker Hisham Badawi referred the labor bill, filed by MP Ali Khalifa and 60 members, to a joint committee of four specialized panels.
- The bill would establish a unified national labor registry and a free electronic platform registering workers with an electronic work card.
- The House also referred bills on carbon governance and carbon footprints, a national legal aid authority, SME law amendments, and a cultural heritage law.
- Each of the seven bills was filed by at least one-tenth of the chamber's members.
