Arsenal defender William Saliba has returned to full training after more than three months out with a back injury sustained at the 2026 World Cup.
- Saliba, 25, rejoined full-team training on Tuesday after leaving France's World Cup semi-final against Spain after 30 minutes on July 14.
- Arsenal said in July the defender required a lengthy rehabilitation without surgery, setting no timescale for his return.
- In his absence, summer signing Ezri Konsa, signed from Aston Villa for £55m, formed a partnership with Gabriel Magalhaes as Arsenal topped the Premier League with five goals conceded in nine games.
- Arteta will be forced to drop one defender once Saliba regains fitness, with Konsa a possible move to right-back.
- Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said Saliba is 'in a really good place' and 'ready to go now' after rejoining full training.
- Saliba played 45 minutes in a closed-door practice match during his recovery from the back injury.
- Saliba travelled with Arsenal's squad to Prague for their Champions League match against Slavia Prague.
- Arteta said he is confident Saliba is ready to make his first appearance of the season.
