Democrat Adam Hamilton defeated incumbent Republican Roger Marshall, becoming the first Democrat to win a Kansas Senate seat since 1932.
- Associated Press projections showed Hamilton, a Methodist pastor, beating Marshall in a race rated a toss-up and the most expensive in state history at $110 million.
- Hamilton said the next two years are a "pivotal time for our country" and that his victory was an effort "to save our democracy."
- Marshall's campaign faced a New York Times report that he sued about 700 former patients for medical debt, which Hamilton used in attack ads.
- Trump, who won Kansas by 16 points in 2024, campaigned for Marshall in late October.
