The Supreme Council for Media Regulation issued a package of decisions banning Egypt's national team coach from media appearances over private-life coverage.
- The council banned Hossam Hassan, Egypt's national football team head coach, from all media outlets governed by Press and Media Law 180 of 2018, effective immediately.
- The council summoned the legal representatives of several websites to hearings for breaching rules protecting citizens' privacy.
- The council said it would pursue legal action against outlets that publish coverage of the dispute, and reaffirmed its existing ban on Hassan's ex-wife Dan Adam.
- The council, chaired by Khaled Abdelaziz, said the decisions uphold ethical media standards and protect sports stability ahead of upcoming national team fixtures.
