Real Madrid close to signing Manchester United forward JJ Gabriel

Real Madrid are finalizing a deal to sign 16-year-old Manchester United forward JJ Gabriel, who has been training in Spain since leaving the club in September.

• Real Madrid have agreed to Gabriel's financial demands, with the total deal worth up to 15 million euros and an official signing expected in January.
• Gabriel has secured an EU passport, which is expected to ease his transfer to a club outside England.
• Manchester United would receive compensation of just over 300,000 euros for Gabriel's training and development costs.
• United head coach Michael Carrick said the club must be careful with the situation and protect the young player's welfare.
