Al-Azhar University bans publication of official documents on social media

Al-Azhar University has activated a ban on publishing and circulating its official documents on social media without authorization from the competent authority.

• On November 5, Al-Azhar University activated legal rules prohibiting the publication and circulation of official documents, decisions, and correspondences signed by its president and leadership on social media and digital platforms without authorization.
• The university warned that violating the rules carries legal accountability under applicable legislation.
• The university instructed college deans and department managers to notify all staff of the ban, monitor its implementation, and report any violations to competent authorities.
