Egypt's environment minister orders probe into Talkha truck's unauthorized waste dump

Egypt's minister of local development and environment ordered an investigation after a video showed a Talkha Center truck dumping waste at an unauthorized Dakahlia site.

• Minister of Local Development and Environment Manal Awad ordered prompt handling of the incident and referral of those responsible for investigation.
• Waste Management Regulatory Authority head Yasser Abdullah said work teams removed the dumped waste and restored the site's appearance.
• Abdullah said the driver who caused the incident was referred for investigation pending legal action.
• Awad stressed continued field monitoring of the waste management system in all governorates and firm handling of illegal practices.
