Australia appoint Mike Hussey as batting consultant for Ashes and 2028 Olympics

Australia have appointed former Test batter Mike Hussey as a long-term batting consultant for the 2027 Ashes and the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

• Hussey, 51, was appointed on Friday and will begin with Australia's five-match T20 series against England from 21 November.
• He will also work with Australia at the four-Test home series against New Zealand and the 2028 T20 World Cup.
• Hussey turned down an informal approach from England's new Test coach Stephen Fleming to be England's batting mentor.
• Australia coach Andrew McDonald said Hussey brings a skill set complementary to the coaches and players.
