Bueckers and Fudd confirm split and deny it influenced Wings' No. 1 draft pick

Wings teammates Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd said on Fudd's podcast Friday that their relationship ended more than a year before Fudd's No. 1 draft selection.

• Bueckers said Fudd "was not drafted because she was my girlfriend. She was drafted because she deserved it."
• Bueckers said the two played an entire season together in Dallas after the breakup and remain friends and teammates.
• Both players asked fans to stop sending hostile messages to them, their families and their friends.
• Fudd said she has spent the offseason rehabbing the right knee injury that required season-ending surgery in August.
