Cornell's Faculty Senate voted 75-50 on Friday to express no confidence in President Michael Kotlikoff and the central administration over its handling of sexual assault allegations.
- The resolution, introduced in September by professor Paul Ortiz, states the senate lacks confidence in the administration's ability to address sexual assault on campus.
- Board of Trustees chair Anne Meinig Smalling said the board remains confident Kotlikoff is the right leader to address sexual assault on campus.
- A former student sued Cornell and seven Chi Phi fraternity members in September, alleging she was given ketamine and raped at a fraternity party in 2024.
- The district attorney initially found no crime had been committed; the case has been reopened and handed to New York Attorney General Letitia James.
