Egypt's drug authority head meets US FDA officials at Seoul regulatory summit

Ali El-Ghamrawy, head of Egypt's Drug Authority, met US Food and Drug Administration representatives in Seoul during the 2026 ICMRA annual summit.

• The meeting took place on the sidelines of the International Coalition of Medicines Regulatory Authorities summit in the South Korean capital.
• Four FDA officials attended, including Mary Thanh Hai, director of the Office of New Drugs, and Ravi Bharwani, deputy director of the global policy office.
• El-Ghamrawy said the Egyptian authority seeks to expand the partnership and exchange regulatory expertise and international best practices.
• The two sides discussed technical cooperation and institutional knowledge exchange on regulatory and oversight matters.
