An independent researcher has extracted a list of more than 100,000 words and phrases that Apple's iPhone keyboard will not autocomplete, including politically charged terms.
- Researcher Derik Kauffman found the list encoded in Apple's operating system after noticing certain phrases were hard to type on his iPhone.
- The list includes "Dictator Trump," "NSA spies," "Tibetan independence," "Kashmir dispute" and "Trayvon Martin," alongside drug and sexual references.
- Apple's Hebrew keyboard will not autocomplete "the occupied territories," and its Arabic keyboard will not complete "the Hamas movement."
- Apple said it designed its keyboard to avoid offering inappropriate or offensive predictive suggestions, and that users can type out any word or phrase manually.
