(opens the publisher’s site)New Valley Governorate celebrated its 67th national day on Saturday with air displays, vehicle parades and folklore, as Governor Hanan Magdy announced investment figures.
- Governor Hanan Magdy attended the celebrations at Kharga Sports Stadium, which featured parachute air shows, military music and folklore performances.
- Magdy announced total public investments in the governorate reached about 24.4 billion Egyptian pounds, including 2.2 billion for health.
- Celebrations included launching a medical convoy, opening service and educational projects, and a sports marathon in al-Kharga.
- The national day marks the arrival of the first development and land reclamation convoy to the region in 1959.
- Magdy inspected the Al-Basateen sales outlet in Kharga, which offers basic goods and vegetables at discounts of up to 50%.
