Meta on Thursday released Muse Spark Open, an open-weight AI model it says rivals the leading open models from Chinese developers.
- Meta has launched Muse Spark Open, an open-weight model with 816 billion parameters and a one-million-token context window.
- The model is optimized to run on Apple's M5 Ultra Mac Studios, requiring at least one terabyte of RAM to operate locally.
- Meta said the model is built for coding and agentic work, paired with its Muse Code terminal for bug fixes and video editing.
- Meta said the model competes with open-weight frontrunners including Alibaba's Qwen and Z.ai's GLM.
