Three people have been convicted at Leicester Crown Court for a personal protective equipment fraud scheme during the pandemic.
- Jogesh Bhandari, Craig Morris, and Meenakashi Bhandari were found guilty of conspiracy to commit fraud and concealing criminal property on Wednesday.
- The National Crime Agency (NCA) said the group claimed they could supply millions of boxes of nitrile gloves and used the money on luxury cars, watches, and home renovations.
- Bhandari spent £126,000 on a Porsche and provided forged bank statements and letters of attestation, according to the NCA.
- The NCA said Bhandari worked with a US assistant attorney general who provided a fraudulent escrow service for the deals.
