Egypt road authority completes asphalt removal on Itay El-Baroud road

Egypt's road authority has finished removing damaged asphalt and begun repaving the Itay El-Baroud service road on the Cairo–Alexandria agricultural road.

• The General Authority for Roads and Bridges has completed scraping and removing damaged asphalt on the service road beside the Itay El-Baroud bridge ramp.
• The authority said repaving works are now beginning as part of its maintenance plan for the current fiscal year.
• The authority said it was taking measures to secure traffic safety and intensifying guide signs during the works.
• The cabinet media center issued the statement in response to footage of the damaged asphalt circulated on social media.
