Oman reported two sailors missing and 23 rescued after an oil tanker was attacked in the Strait of Hormuz, where Iran and the United States have offered competing accounts of the strike.
- Oman's Maritime Security Centre said the Panamanian-flagged tanker Al-Ghaya, ablaze in its engine room after being targeted off Musandam, was being towed to an Omani port.
- Iran's Revolutionary Guard said the tanker struck naval mines on a route it calls prohibited; US Central Command rejected the account, saying the vessel was hit by an Iranian missile and later a drone.
- Britain's UKMTO said it received a report of a fire aboard a ship struck by an "unknown" projectile while crossing the strait on Sunday morning.
- Iran's semi-official Fars news agency said "hostile drones" targeted two fishing boats overnight near the Iranian port of Kargan, northeast of Musandam.
- US Secretary of State Marco Rubio condemned Iranian attacks on commercial ships in a call with Omani Foreign Minister Badr al-Busaidi, stressing freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
