European football: Lamine Yamal keeps Barcelona perfect, Leipzig rout Hamburg
(opens the publisher’s site)Barcelona defeated Levante 4-2 in Valencia to extend their perfect La Liga start to five wins, while coach Hansi Flick took the blame for the home side's first goal.
- Barcelona earned 15 points atop La Liga with the win, three clear of Real Madrid.
- Xavi Espart, a double from Lamine Yamal, and a 93rd-minute Karim Adeyemi goal sealed the result; Iván Romero and Roger Brugue scored for Levante.
- Flick said the first goal Barcelona conceded was his mistake, acknowledging he waited too long before making substitutions.
- Flick said the team "managed to survive," leaving penalty duties to whichever player is best placed after Yamal converted the kick.
