Marlen Reusser won her second consecutive world time-trial championship in Montreal, beating Britain's Zoe Backstedt by 40 seconds.
- Reusser, competing on her 35th birthday, finished the 39.2km course in 50 minutes 24.44 seconds to retain the title she won last year.
- Backstedt, riding at elite level for the first time, led at the first two time checks before Reusser pulled ahead in the second half.
- Germany's Franziska Koch finished third, 5.43 seconds behind Backstedt.
- Reusser said she had been "really nervous" about pacing and that she had something to celebrate regardless of the result.
