Gaza doctor held by Israel without charge for 21 months

Dr. Hassan Khalil Almukayed is among at least 15 Palestinian doctors from Gaza held in Israeli detention without charge or trial.

• Almukayed, a vascular surgeon, was arrested by Israeli forces on October 25, 2024, during the storming of Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza.
• The UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry called for the release of hospital director Hussam Abu Safia, held without charge for over 18 months.
• Physicians for Human Rights-Israel stated that 55 healthcare workers remain detained, including 15 senior doctors, and that detainees face starvation and physical violence.
• Almukayed's wife, Nadia, said she has not told him that his father died while he was in detention.
