Two firms have been fined £1.3m over the death of coach driver Mick Ferris, killed by a falling window in London.
- St James Group Ltd was fined £1m and Lindner Prater £300,000 at Inner London Crown Court on Thursday, each ordered to pay £125,000 in costs.
- Ferris, 53, was crushed when a 130kg window pane fell 26 storeys from The Corniche in Vauxhall on 2 October 2018.
- A window panel had previously fallen from the same development in August 2017, but the design was not significantly changed as a result.
- Widow Rachel Ferris told the court her husband's death could have been prevented after the earlier incident.
