Mancini outlines Italy rebuild with expanded squad and young faces

Roberto Mancini, reappointed Italy coach in July, has laid out his rebuilding plan with a 34-man squad and four Nations League matches ahead.

• Mancini was reappointed in July after Italy missed a third successive World Cup, following his 2023 resignation for Saudi Arabia.
• He has called up 34 players, including eight potential debutants, for Nations League matches against Belgium, Türkiye and France.
• Mancini said fans who feel betrayed have the right to be upset and that winning them back requires performing well.
• Italy open at home against Belgium on Friday in Rome.
