World Rugby has offered to help any union move a Six Nations match to the United States, while England have ruled themselves out over the financial value of Twickenham fixtures.
- World Rugby floated Ireland v Italy as a potential American fixture and offered support to any union seeking to switch a championship match stateside.
- England have effectively ruled themselves out, citing the roughly £10m each home Twickenham fixture generates and the 85% of Rugby Football Union revenues they provide.
- World Rugby chief executive Alan Gilpin told the Telegraph that the sold-out Baltimore Test between South Africa and New Zealand shows financial return "is not the barrier" to taking big matches to the US.
- The US will host the men's and women's Rugby World Cups in 2031 and 2033, and the 2030 Nations Championship finals weekend is slated for America.
