A nationwide strike by non-regular transport workers on Monday disrupted services while some unions opposed the action, as drivers demanded legislative reforms and tariff adjustments.
- The strike, called by the National Transport Union of UTICA, covered taxis, "louage" vehicles, and rural transport from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. across Tunisia.
- Mohamed Ali Al-Arfawi, secretary-general of the Tunisian Union for Individual Taxis, said participation among individual taxi drivers reached 65 percent.
- Al-Arfawi warned of further protests if authorities do not respond to demands, stating that continuing work under current losses is "no longer possible."
- The General Transport Union of UGTT urged its members not to participate, while the government issued no official comment on the strike.
