Egyptian PM Announces 10-Day Plan to Implement President’s Food Security Directives

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said the government will present a comprehensive plan to the cabinet within ten days to execute presidential directives on food security.

• Madbouly said the plan aims to stabilize and reduce prices of basic commodities, as part of efforts to lower import costs.
• He stated that the Future of Egypt Authority, the Supply Ministry, and the Agriculture Ministry are coordinating on mechanisms to achieve price stability.
• Madbouly announced a conference in early December to develop a plan for integrating informal workers into the formal economy and supporting small projects.
• He said President Sisi also directed the development of the media sector and the integration of informal labor.
