Egyptian Boxing Team Returns from African Championship with Silver Medal

The national boxing team has returned to Cairo from Cameroon after winning one silver medal at the African championship that concluded on Friday.

• Ahmed Amin won the silver medal in the 81 kg weight class at the African championship in Cameroon.
• Three other Egyptian boxers — Rami Helmy, Mahmoud Mohy, and Mohamed Ramadan — failed to win any medals.
• General coach Saeed Hassan said African referees had favored dark-skinned boxers, costing Egyptian athletes medals.
