Bev Craig defended Manchester City's place on a UK trade delegation to India as records showed Andy Burnham dined twice with the club's chairman.
- Craig said the club, found guilty of 114 Premier League breaches, had helped build infrastructure and create jobs in east Manchester.
- City, which denies wrongdoing and has appealed the verdict, declined to comment on the invitation.
- The Sun reported Burnham attended two pre-match dinners with chairman Khaldoon al-Mubarak in 2017 and 2018, declared in now-deleted council paperwork.
- Downing Street said the dinners were declared hospitality received at home games, not separate meetings.
