Four-year-old girl dies after being hit by car in Nottinghamshire village

A four-year-old girl has died in hospital after being struck by a car on Sunday in Gotham, Nottinghamshire, police said.

• Emergency services were called to Nottingham Road at 14:28 BST on Sunday, and the girl died a short time later in hospital.
• A 59-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has since been bailed.
• Nottinghamshire Police said the girl was hit near the junction with Meadow End and are appealing for witnesses or dashcam footage.
• Sgt Paul Clark asked the public not to speculate on social media and to respect the family's privacy.
