Israeli human rights group B'Tselem has published a report alleging Israel is waging a systematic campaign to dismantle Palestinian collective life in the occupied West Bank.
- Israeli human rights group B'Tselem published Monday a report outlining five mechanisms, including violence, movement restrictions and economic strangulation, used to dismantle Palestinian collective life.
- B'Tselem counted at least 1,107 Palestinians killed by Israeli forces in the West Bank since October 2023.
- The report said Israel and armed settlers have taken control of over 1,070,000 dunams, about 18 percent of the West Bank, and forcibly displaced 75 Palestinian communities.
- B'Tselem executive director Yuli Novak said the campaign is "a single political project" and urged governments to stop Israel's actions.
- B'Tselem described the situation as apartheid in the West Bank and genocide in the Gaza Strip, saying Israel aims to entrench its presence and sovereignty.
- The report, titled 'The Erasure Project,' identifies five facets of Israeli presence: violence, ethnic cleansing, movement restrictions, economic strangulation and social-political destruction.
- The Israeli military rejected the report's accusations, describing them as 'false and baseless.'
