Thunderstorm and lightning warning issued for southern Upper Egypt and Sinai

Egypt's meteorological authority has forecast thundery rain and possible lightning across southern Upper Egypt and Sinai for Tuesday.

• The authority forecast light-to-moderate, occasionally thundery rain at roughly 30% probability across Halaib, Shalatin, Marsa Alam and far-southern Upper Egypt.
• Satellite images showed thunderclouds developing over the far-southern Eastern Desert at Halaib and Shalatin, the authority said.
• The authority warned the expected thunderclouds may bring strong winds and possible lightning strikes.
• It forecast morning fog on some roads from 4–8 a.m. and wind activity across Greater Cairo and southern Sinai.
