Susan Collins, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, said the central bank will likely raise interest rates again before the end of 2026.
- Collins said she supported last month's Federal Reserve rate hike to the 3.75–4.00 percent range.
- She said it would be appropriate to raise rates slightly before year-end to ensure inflation returns durably to the 2 percent target.
- Several Fed officials have signaled the increase will come in December, not at the October 27–28 meeting.
