Trump ally Paolo Zampolli has been removed as US special envoy for global partnerships after reports of a feud with Deputy Secretary Christopher Landau.
- A US official confirmed Thursday that Zampolli was notified his envoy status was terminated and he no longer holds a government post.
- His removal came hours after a Politico report detailed a monthslong email feud between Zampolli and Landau over chain of command and diplomatic authority.
- In an email dated November 14, 2025, Landau ordered Zampolli to stop working on issues outside cultural diplomacy.
- Zampolli is the second Trump-linked diplomat ousted in recent days, after Kimberly Guilfoyle's forced resignation as ambassador to Greece.
- On X, Zampolli said his one-year mission was extended by six months and Trump told him to make business deals instead of government work.
