FIFA's Dispute Resolution Chamber ruled Zamalek must pay Moroccan Abdel Hamid Maali $611,680 over his contract termination, and the club has appealed.
- The chamber ruled Maali validly terminated his contract after Zamalek failed to pay four installments and paid only $8,000 of the $66,000 demanded.
- Zamalek must pay $66,000 in arrears and $545,680 in compensation, plus 5% annual interest, within 30 days of notification.
- A Zamalek source said the club filed its appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport within the legal deadline and CAS is now reviewing the case.
- Zamalek filed no substantive defense in the FIFA case, objecting only to Maali's French-language documents, an objection the chamber rejected.
