Denmark's Culture Ministry on Thursday presented a bill prohibiting the sharing of realistic AI-generated copies of people's faces and voices without their consent.
- The proposed copyright-law amendment covers ordinary people and artists, following a political agreement reached in June 2025.
- Culture Minister Xenia Stampe said AI tools allow creating manipulated images and videos within a few clicks, feeding misinformation and doubt about what is real.
- Stampe said a central goal is pressing major technology companies to remove manipulated content quickly so it causes minimal harm.
- The bill exempts satire, parody, and criticism unless they constitute serious misinformation, with Stampe hoping it takes effect in early 2027.
