UEFA's executive committee chose Munich's Allianz Arena and Barcelona's Camp Nou to host the Champions League finals in 2028 and 2029, in decisions taken during its meeting in Thessaloniki on Tuesday.
- The committee picked Allianz Arena for 2028, its third Champions League final after 2012 and 2025, and Camp Nou for 2029, its first since 1999.
- Barcelona's 2029 bid, submitted with the city, the Catalonia government, the Spanish football federation, and the Spanish government, beat London's Wembley; Munich was the only bidder for 2028.
- Camp Nou is undergoing renovation to raise capacity to about 105,000 seats with a new roof; its current capacity during the works is around 62,000.
- The committee also assigned the 2028 and 2029 Europa League finals to Bucharest and Belgrade and the Women's Champions League finals to Lyon and Cardiff.
- Bayern Munich CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen and Barcelona president Joan Laporta voiced pride in the hosting decision, citing the venues' organisational quality and international appeal.
