The Jerusalem Governorate has warned that Temple groups are preparing to turn Bab al-Rahma, in the eastern wall of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, into a recurring Jewish prayer site.
- The governorate said recent settler rituals at the Bab al-Rahma cemetery, which adjoins the mosque's eastern wall, went beyond holiday customs and were preparing the place for regular Jewish prayer.
- The governorate linked the moves to former Israeli army officer Ori Ohayon, who promoted the idea from August 16 and organized gatherings on August 27, September 3, and September 10.
- The governorate said it tracked promotional flyers and a WhatsApp group named "Open the Gates of Mercy to us" promoting a Jewish religious narrative of the site.
- It said the gatherings included collective prayers and blowing the shofar beside Muslim graves.
