Egypt launches training programs for literacy teachers and elderly care specialists

Two educational initiatives have started in Egypt: a literacy teacher training program in Al-Buhayra and an academic program in elderly care at Cairo University.

• A three-week training program for new literacy teachers launched Tuesday in Damanhur, Al-Buhayra, as part of a cooperation between the governorate, Bibliotheca Alexandrina, and the General Authority for Adult Education.
• Cairo University announced the launch of a bachelor's program in elderly care management at its Faculty of Home Economics, according to a statement from the university.
• Al-Buhayra Governor Jacqueline Azar said the training program aims to reduce illiteracy rates and support human development under the "I am a lifelong learner" initiative with UNESCO.
